I was saddened to hear that pioneer rock band Petra has decided to retire at the end of this year.  Petra paved the way more than 30 years ago for CCM rock bands.  They were rebuked by those in the church that thought they were being "worldly" and materialistic.  All the while Petra stayed the course that God had set for them, writing music that thrilled the heart and lyrics that were straight from the Scriptures.  Their "On Fire" album was given to me by a youth pastor.  It was my very first Christian rock album and it opened my world up.  Their Scripture based lyrics made me hungry for the Word, and their passion for ministry fueled my desire to go into music minister as well.  Petra, you will be missed but certainly not forgotten!

Don't forget to come see us in Maryville, at the Crossroad's Cafe on Friday the 20th, and at the Fire Escape in Kingsport on Saturday May 21st!

God has been so good to Crimson Truth!  We have been meeting some great people in other bands; like Exit 33, A Healing Season, OMID, Isaiah's Vision (we already knew you guys, but we can't leave you out!), Seven Day Journey, the list could go on and on!  We have gotten a another show lined up!  The Fire Escape - May 21st!

Song writing is going very well!  Brian and Drew are coming up with great ideas every rehearsal!  We are all excited about letting you guys hear the new stuff!  Keep praying for us and spread the word about our band if you dig us!

We had a great meeting with some other bands two weeks ago at the very first MECRA meeting!  We know some great things are going to be happening!  Check the link above often!

We have a new site for you to help us with -- Pure Volume!  If you play our music using that site you help us in the Bandzoogle Battle of the Bands.  There are several other Tri-Cities Christian rock bands on that site as well.  Look them up and give them support too!  Let's have a Tri-Cities Christian Rock band win that thing!

Tomorrow is going to be a GREAT day for Christian Rock music in the Tri-Cities!  I encourage you to come out to our 1st ever meeting of the Tri-Cities Christian Rock Musicians Association.  Details below!

Check the shows page for new dates!  More coming soon!

<<4-7-05>>

The Tri-Cities Christian Rock Musicians Association is beginning to draw more and more attention and support.  The list of those willing to attend Saturday and participate in the future is growing: OMID, Twisted Logic, Isaiah's Vision, Exit 33, Winter of '74,   Dave from Gretchen, Crimson Truth.  This is a great start!  We want all of the bands there!  We think this is going to be an awesome group that God will bless in many ways.  We have contacted many other bands and are waiting for replies.  If you know of a group or a person that should be there, get the word out!

The 1st meeting of the TCCRMA is getting closer!  (see below)  Members of Exit33 have been in contact with me regarding an exciting idea.  I won't let the cat out of the bag right now, but you WILL NOT want to miss this meeting!

The Christian Musician Forum has launched a new site!  The update is very professional.  Along with their great forums, they have added a RADIO station!  This is a professional set-up, with station ID's and advertisements - the whole enchilada!  The site administrator has gone to great lengths to see that this website becomes a major force on the web. They are taking cd's now from independent bands to be played along with top name groups.  Get your cd in now and get your band heard!

Crimson Truth signed to multi-album deal by Wish-this-were-true Records!!!  Well, there's my goofy attempt at an April Fool's Day joke.  Now I just feel sad.

OK,  time for some REAL news!  There are new show dates in the works!  We will be joining new Tri-Cities Metal band, O.M.I.D., for a concert at their church (date TBA).  O.M.I.D. is a great group of guys who are committed to the Father and spreading the Gospel through their music.  This will be a multi-band bill and will be SURE to rock the flock! Other bands TBA.  There will be a date posted soon for a Crimson Truth appearance at the Fire Escape, here in Kingsport.

God  is truly blessing Crimson Truth with opportunity.  We appreciate your prayers and support.

Crimson Truth will be hosting the first meeting of the Tri-Cities Christian Rock Musician's Association (man we gotta think of a shorter name!) on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00am, at Lynn Garden Baptist Church in Kingsport.  The purpose of this organization will be to help Christian rock bands and solo musicians to network, find/share gigs, and share other information that will help in the running of our music ministries.  Our first meeting will feature Dave Richards.  Dave is the guitarist for Gretchen.  Gretchen has been around the block a few times and has found out what it takes to get noticed.  They are getting radio airplay and are solidly book through most of the year.  Dave will be sharing ideas and insights on how to help make our bands more successful.  Please bring any venue information you might have and ideas for possible events to host as this will be the focus of our roundtable discussion.  Refreshments will be served.  E-mail us for more details: whitsonj@hck12.net Check out Gretchen's website.

<<3-28-05>>

Well, the site is finally up!  We hope that you make this a regular addition to your web-surfing.  Look for updates often.  Feel free to e-mail us your questions and comments.  We hope to have a guest book and message board up soon!

We are just coming off a terrific weekend!  We want to thank everyone who came out to our shows over the weekend of the 11th.

Our first show was at Surgoinsville Middle School, for their F.C.A. Rally.  We really appreciate the great turn out to the show, even with a few minor snags (snow and Gretchen's cancellation).  We really have to give a special thank you to Shannon Glass.  Shannon made this event extra special by providing all of the sound reinforcement that evening.  It was probably the best sound we have ever had!

Saturday it was on to Mt. Juliet, TN to play at the Cafe Express.  What an awesome venue!  We are looking forward to returning on June 4th.  All of the bands there were great and the crowd response was fantastic!  I guess we're doing something right.

We are currently booking more shows for the Spring so check our dates often!  We are also rehearsing NEW originals as well as some fun covers (old Petra, Whitecross, Newsboys).  We hope to be getting into the studio sometime in June.

We looking forward to seeing you soon!
